Some things only happened in my village, there was entertainment everywhere, there were no cinema halls but even if they were, then they couldn’t have made any money because no one would have wasted their good earned money on watching people just talking on a big screen after all there was something entertaining every passing minute. Everyone seemed to be hurrying somewhere, even cows hurried to go to the river, cats hurried to get the most comfortable place on the coach before anyone else.Women always seemed to to be hurrying somewhere too,if not cooking and yelling for their kids to come home for lunch even when they had just started to cook, only for the kids to come home and find lunch not ready, then it was chaos with kids crying and making all sorts of trouble. The women would then hurry to the market but they kept on running from one point to another.

Mrs Bunda, our southern neighbour pulled a stunt that made history. For one she was the fastest woman in the village,at times she would run along side a bus and sometimes she overtook it before it gained speed while comfortably yelling about her fresh bananas.

On one rainy evening,Mrs Bunda sprained her ankle coming from the market,I bet she was hurrying as usual, not to mention that it was dark already.Everyone was startled by her loud cries ,the villagers went to investigate only to find her lying on the ground clutching her left leg.lt was immediately agreed that she should be taken to the village dispensary which was  in the neighbouring village.A stretcher was improvised and four strong men were tasked to take her to the dispensary. As the men left, the villages were left discussing in low tones and some even saying it serves her right for running in the dark. On the way to the dispensary according to the four men who carried her shoulder high they met a leopard, they didn’t even think twice ,all they did was to throw the stretcher down and ran back home only to find Mrs Bunda already there narrating how she outrun the four men in saving her skin.lt took some time before any one could distinguish Mrs Bunda who had sprained her ankle and the new Mrs Bunda who was fully cured. To this day despite her advanced age,Mrs Bunda is still hurrying but now she doesn’t run,she only walks very fast, always a head of other women. She still loves her favourite White spotted dress.

I always suppress a laugh whenever I hear people masquerade as the fastest or record holders in one hundred meter sprint. The ladies in this painting would beat them hands down any time.

When you approach the market place you immediately become the prey ;my ladies would do a dash towards you trying to sell their wares,eh 99.9 percent is what you will never need but they will end up selling you about 60 to 70 percent. They could easily sell you the shoes you are wearing on your feet.

Talks are at an advanced stage for me to employ them as my sales team ?

l have been watching them do their thing for the many years l have painted markets: not even one day have they dropped the goods they  carry on their heads while in sprint .
