ROBERT ASWANI

Robert Aswani is a self-taught artist who works in watercolors, acrylics and watercolor ink.As a young child he would accompany his mother to the market;little did he know the faces and scenes those young eyes absorbed would become the focus of his work.Complex and colorful market scenes are his favorite subjects. Aswani generally works with acrylics highlighted by watercolor ink to achieve the vivid coloration he is well-known for.He enjoys experimenting with various styles according to the piece, and having  different hobbies from reading to gaming which include casino games like pokie mate and others.

“ I love painting market scenes because lam swept immediately back to my childhood where nothing was clear;colors intermingled and moods changed;people moved so quickly you could only capture their face for a split-second.The market is art in motion”. Washing day painting is my new subject.

NDEVENI.

Born 40 years ago, Ndeveni started showing interest in artwork during his early days of school. Everyday he would take a pen and paper and create something new. He would take all of his sketches that he produced (even during school), and show it to his teacher. The teacher realized that Ndeveni had a lot of innate talent, so he was encouraged to improve his works. As soon as Ndeveni started to create nicer pieces of art, the teacher introduced him to leading art galleries in the capitol city Nairobi. One of the gallery owners recognized his budding talent and offered him work at his own studio. From this gallery he attained notoriety for his creativity and attention to detail. From then on he never looked back.

Ndeveni started to produce some of the highest-quality watercolors ever seen within Kenya art circle. Later on, he started working with alternative mediums as well, like oils. However, he says of his own works, “Watercolors give me more satisfaction and joy, and the ability to put onto paper what is in my head. Every so often I visit game parks and my tribal homeland to refresh my memories and revive my inspiration.”
